The Heat Is On

Here in the UK we are in the midst of a heat wave, brought over from Spain apparently and most Brits including me find it unbearable. Granted heatwaves are rare and don't usually last long, but when they arrive we have to adapt accordingly. Personally for me, the summer is the worst season of the year for me, I hate the heat, I sweat, I can't sleep, it's stifling, and the humidity then there's all the damn bugs that come out too. My moods actually plummet in the hotter months. So here I am vegetating in front of the fan and in front of the computer and this is where I am staying. Normally I'd go to the gym on a Thursday but the thought of going out in this heat and then sweating tonnes more is not a favourable one. Still Summer won't be with us long, and as the nights draw in fast, and September is only round the corner so that's something to look forward to. How do you deal with the heat? I always maintain it's much easier to warm up than it is to cool down.

I keep a bottle of icy water close to me, or I just open the window and hope some wind comes in. We can't waste A/C electricity for one person (me) only. Otherwise, when I'm out, I go to the mall.

AC is the only way to deal with the heat these days.

We're having a bit of a heat wave here as well. Yesterday was pretty hot and today it'll be be almost 39 degrees with the humidity. It may last another day or two, but we'll see. As unpleasant as the heat can be sometimes, I'll take the heat over our freezing winters.

I do like you, vegetate. We have air conditioning so I stay inside as much as possible. I hope that Fall is not far away for all of us.

I hope you are all good though. For sure it is easier to warm up than cool oneself down

Heat is more oppressive in south here. Fans help me to bear it up!

The humidity would bother me a lot. We have an air conditioner and it is still working okay, which is a miracle we run it so much. I do not do well with heat, so I'm actually inside with the a/c all summer and don't go out much.
