I was on another forum where people were mentioning the difference in alumnium foil regular thickness vs heavy duty. I have to admit, I haven't paid much attention to types of foil. I do prefer the non stick variety though..Do you find different types of aumnium foil better for certain uses?

We use the heavy duty kinds for lining the water pan in our smoker and for tenting the meats that come out of it. But other than that I just use the regular stuff. Store brand too!

I need some right now..but if the heavy duty foil is more, I will just be buying standard foil!

Yeah, I could see if you have a big cooking or barbecuing job you would want heavy duty foil.

The thick foil is much better when are cooking the grill/bbq that is heavy. I like to potatoes veggies and meat all together and then wrap it. It doesn't rip as easily. The thin stuff is fine if you are using it to cover something up in the oven or for bake potatoes, etc.

I honestly don't think I ever bought heavy duty foil, and I was only dimly aware of it honestly.

I didn't know there was much difference between any of them. I'll have to take more notice.

Yes, I guess I have seen the heavy duty foil, but if it costs more it is probably not for me. I don't do much heavy duty cooking anyway.

@snowy22315 We don't use it too often. One day I'm going to try the 'cleaning silver' trick they talk about.

I always insist on the thick heavy-duty foil to make my special hat that keeps space aliens away. It has worked very well so far.

No, we just use the same regular aluminum foil we have used for years. Never tried the heavy-duty foil.

I do really like the non stick foil though..because whenever I make barbecue chicken it always seems to stick. I guess maybe I forget to spray it or something.
