Favorite Canadian Acts #8 - The Birthday Massacre

#8 in my Favorite Canadian Acts series belongs to The Birthday Massacre. The Birthday Massacre formed, for kicks, if you believe Wikipedia, in 1999 in Ontario. They slowly worked their way up, eventually becoming an internationally touring act. Their 2008 album, Walking with Strangers, spawned the single "Looking Glass." And while it didn't perform all that well, it is a great tune, an energetic rocker with just enough goth overtones to satisfy the kids wearing all black.

I'm beginning to think I've heard of no Canadian bands before. I don't count Men Without Hats as I thought they were Austrailan!

"Birthday Massacre," yeah, that's a folk band. Again, the song really didn't sound what I thought it'd sound like based on the band's name.

I have another cool band name coming up soon. But yeah The Birthday Massacre is an awesome name.
