The Billy Goat and the Merchants One upon a time there lived some greedy merchants and a smart Billy Goat. The merchants would send out demands for payments. Billy Goat would try to pay those invoices. The merchants got richer by the day. Billy Goat got poorer by the minute. Said the merchants, “We will get all of Billy Goat's money until he starves to death.” Said Billy Goat, “Those greedy merchants want me to starve to death. I'd best figure out what to do about their constant demands for payment before I die from paying, paying, paying.” As Billy goat later explained things, “I think that I just thunked, and I thunked until I could not thank any more.” Finally, Billy Goat came up with a plan for winning his invoice battles with the greedy merchants. “I will never starve to death. Those greedy merchants will never get the better of me.. Whenever their demand for more money comes in my mail, I will simply eat the invoice, the envelope, the stamp, and even the ink on the paper. Never forget – we goats can eat anything. Then, after I fully digest those invoices, I will return what is left of them to the greedy merchants and tell those stinkers what they can do with them.” This is what Billy Goat did. The merchants could no longer read their returned invoices and so they did not know what next to tell to Billy Goat. Furthermore, the greedy merchants had never before seen fully digested, unpaid invoices. Their customer, Billy Goat, really had them baffled and confused. In addition, the bad smell of digested invoices was a new and very unpleasant experience for the merchants. Billy Goat had won the war. Moral: If you are going to act like a real stinker, you should be prepared for smelly treatment in return from those whom your own stinkyness has assaulted * * * * * * * * * * Image source - Pixabay dot com * * * * * * * * * *

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Old Billy Goat was a "thanker" were he anything at all. As to circulating these little "fable" things, I am so doggone old now that I am going to try to keep all of my circulation for myself, internally of course.

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Forgive me good Friend, but I have missed the point you are making with your comment. Maybe it is time for me to hit the bed for the evening. (That's the way things go when a person gets older by the minute because of getting prettier by the day.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - - I really liked your comment and I believe that I understand it OK - but I was kinda wondering how old Billy Goat could show anyone such a stink... If that be the only question inside my thick skull, then I guess that luck is still with me. -Gus-
