I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm afraid of what's hidden in the dark that I cannot see, especially when I wander outside at night and there's no nightlights around. Also, if I'm watching a scary movie, and I'm alone, I get scared if I hear any kind of odd noise, inside the house or out! Especially spider movies!!! UGH.

I slept with a nightlight for years! And I mean all the way into my adult life. The dark itself didn't scare me as much as being afraid of what might be IN the dark that I couldn't see. Once I got married though, and had someone to sleep with me, I was able to give up my nightlight. :)

I might say that I never was afraid of the dark but I would just feel like someone/something was watching me. I was not afraid but very cautios and always used to look behind :). Now I don't have that problem anymore...
