It has been a few months and the cough hasn't gone away. It is now getting worse,to the point I have coughing fits until I throw up. I went to the walkin a couple times and was told to take cough syrup. I do this and a bottle last a half a week to a week The doctor at the walk in claims mylungs are clear and its not asthma.

Omigosh, have you been tested for various allergies ever, or is this the first time this has ever happened to you? A few months is way too long (as you know!) Seems like the doc should be more concerned. Did it start out with a cold? I've had them hang on, the coughs, but not that long.

If your cough lasts that long and is getting worse, something is causing it. Flipping you off by saying to take cough syrup is not a real answer.

@akalinus Like what?.I know I have asthma as well. But I just walked out of the walk in clinic when she told me I didn't have asthma (I've been diagnosed and treated since I was a kid).

@ricki_911 They should check you and find out what is causing the cough. I can think of a few things that are possible.

Do you have a regular Doctor to go to. You should not have a cough for that long of time.

If lungs are clear, it may be an allergic cough. Getting tested thoroughly and taking proper medication would be wise.

@ricki_911 The culprit causing your cough may be in your food or in the surroundings you live in. Avoiding it may help you.

I am quite surprised that the doctor wasn't more concerned about it. It could be allergies. It is good your lungs are clear and you don't have asthma but there has to be a reason for the cough. That is a long time to be coughing for no reason.
