What a horrible day for a family I know

When my husband and I were in our senior year of high school we became good friends with another couple in our grade. We were all pretty inseparable for about a year. My husband didn't want to continue to hang around them as we all spent so much time together he just wanted us to spend time alone. A few years ago this girls mother was murdered by the husband (my friends father). The family has been suffering from that horror ever since. Today this girls 13 year old son was killed. For some reason he was home from school and driving a tractor down the road and a woman hit the tractor and it threw him off and he was killed. This boy was in my nephews grade and only a year older then my daughter. I can't even imagine how hard this has to be for them. I can't even let myself imagine to much because it is just so heartbreaking and scary that this could happen. This is absolutely tragic.

I pray I never have to know what it feels like it has to be the worst thing in the world for a parent to go through.

That would be very difficult to get over.. specially the murder .. My brother was murdered by unknown people and we have never gotten over it, how much more if your mother was murdered by your father or people known to you.. it tough

Yes and they still love their father and stick up for him. I just cannot even imagine how hard the murder had to be on them and now this a parent losing their child and never getting to watch them grow up is so heartbreaking!

@epiffanie In my friends shoes I literally don't know how I would feel. I fear I would hate the parent that murdered the other one.

Even today farm related accidents kill so many people, expecially young ones. That is awful.

This boy was just mowing his lawn I guess so it must have been a small lawn mower referred to as a tractor. I heard it happened out in the front yard along the road so the poor kid was trying to mow his lawn and was killed.

@shaggin It makes me sick to my stomach to think about it too. Our children aren't supposed to go before us but it does happen sometimes.

This family is actually now living in the house where they grew up where the mother was murdered in the driveway. Now the son while mowing the lawn. I would not want to live there!

It is horrible :-( My sister and I are going to the viewing today. It is going to be so painful. I had only seen the boy once but just the sadness of what happened is going to make me need waterproof mascara.

I know my heart aches for them. What adds to it is yesterday her son was killed and exactly 4 years ago today is when her mother was murdered.

Difficulties come one after the other in a row or sequence. So once anything happens better they consult the religious head and seek their blessings. They will guide people in all their hardships.

So sad for them. Losing a child is probably the most traumatic experience a family can go through. I can't even imagine the grief of losing a mother and a child, and in such violent ways. I'll pray for her.

You're right - it hardly bears thinking about. But whyever was a 13 year old driving a tractor on the road? That is surely illegal?

From what I heard is that he goes to a different school then my kids so he was still home on summer break and he was mowing his lawn along the edge of his lawn when he was hit.
