Good morning, today is National Apple day here in New England. I always look forward to apple picking the early Mac. They say the apples will be much smaller,in lack of rain and the drought that we are having. Will be picking apples soon. This is my favorite where everyone get together and pick. After picking we top this off with their home made ice cream. Will be doing this soon. The kids loved it. Do you pick your own apples? Photo is public domaine

No, there is nothing like this here. We can only pick up fruits in our own gardens. Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder) was on the lake of Como last Sunday. One of his best friend married there.

They dont grow in the tropics. I heard there are tropical species of apples but I can't find them here. I have no choice but to buy store apples if I want them. They were cheap here though. Peaches are expensive here.

We don't pick apples, but we get some from the local orchard. Sooooo good! We have a Johnny Appleseed Day here in Paradise Oct. 1 and 2 this year. All kinds of activities and FOOD, yum.

I don't think we've ever picked apples before (not sure where there is a place locally to do it). My parents have a small fuji apple tree, but the squirrels keep stealing the fruits. If anything, I know there will be lots and lots of varieties of apples invading the stores soon!

We haven't gone apple picking in a few years but usually do the pumpkin picking in the Fall. The kids love to find their own pumpkins and of course the corn maze is lots of fun. I sit and wait and enjoy some apple cider donuts

Good day to you. I remember my father would go out to the apple orchards to pick apples for extra money. Sometimes he would go with his sister Mary and my grandpa their dad. Dad would have me cut the apples to make apple sauce making sure all of the seed and core along with the outsides of the apples. He would wash off the apples making each were clean. Dad would put them in a pan with a little bit of sugar for the taste while letting them cook down to a sauce. Later that evening Dad let each of us have a bowl of ice cream the apples.
