Summers Past

I can remember hot summer evenings setting outside our tiny apartment slapping skeeters and listening to "Heard It Through The Grapevine" on the radio. I was nineteen and was married to my daughter's dad at the time. Our first apartment. No air conditioning and surprised we had room to turn around the place was so small. That was about 45 years ago!

I love that song! I don't remember where I was or what I was doing the firs time I heard it. Good choice of a song!

Funny how music can take you back and remind you of things from the past. That one sure does it for me.

I can't remember why we moved. Bigger place for the baby I expect.

I have similar memories, though I'm lucky. Skeeter don't like how I taste. I never get bit, not in years, anyway.

Wow dont know why I had not or dont remember hearing this version of the song. I also recall living in a very small apartment like that with my second hubs. It was so small and old a place, but the nights there were so hot in the summer time.

That wasn't the original version I was listening to back then but it does the trick. Reminded me. Yes, hot.

What state were you in? Slapping skeeters makes me think of Summer Camp in Michigan.
