Rough hands or smooth hands

I have always associated rough hands with hard work. When I was younger, some people said that my hands were smooth. Nowadays though, my children tell me that my hands are rough. I have done a lot of manual work in my life. Being a mother and wife, having no maids, I tended to do a lot of work using my hands. Sometimes I wear gloves, only to protect my newly painted fingernails, lol. My hubby has a very rough hand. I love his arms though, they are big, like Popeye's. He's also a working man and works hard, with his hands. Do you like smooth or rough hands?

Obviously smooth hands but then that was never a choice because the work and the results that followed always are a priority.I 've just washed a stack of dishes

I have always had soft and smooth hands. The only time I did household chores was when I lived alone in Bangkok for 6 months but that didn't affect the softness of my hands. I like men with strong grip but not rough.

Strong grip is good for men, but women too can have strong grip. What did you do in Bangkok?

I have smooth hand since it is an asset for a Physiotherapist. It feels awkward to say but it needs to have such skin texture to my profession.

I have small smooth and soft hands. I have used a lot my hands, even in the garden, but I never miss to protect them.

@vickyrose My Mom has very rough hands, it is true she worked a lot, but the fact is that she never cared to protect her hands.

@LadyDuck Maybe in those days, lotions and softeners were not popular then. My hands are rougher than my mom. She was a teacher and we had helpers in her home.

I have rough hands too for i do all the house chores. My daughters will even complain every time I put efficacient oil in their backs when they have cough. I just put lotion on my hands to minimize its roughness.

I have partial in between that. I'd expect partial as in somewhat rough and smooth.

My hands sometimes get quite rough. It depends on what I have been doing. I try to remember to rub hand-cream into them. That helps a lot.

it is better to have rough hands than to have smooth because you know that you are working, than to have smooth hand don't know nothing

Yes, indeed. But I observed that some people, no matter how hard they work their hands, it remained soft, maybe because of lotions or their genes.

you are very right.... my hands are soft...and i do NOT do house work.. and i have noticed that people who do work like washing the dishes, gardening and other chores as such.. do not have the time to take care of their hands ... like lazy people of my kind do.
