Handwriting : Tells Something About Us?

Every person has his own handwriting. There are some who writes legibly and some who writes in the way that only them can read and understand it. But do you agree that our handwriting tells something about us? According to some studies, our personality traits could be guessed just by studying our writing style. The way we sign our name and connect the letters to the other could reveal many things about us. Graphology is the special technique that is used to analyze a person’s personality and character traits. But other experts say that studying handwriting is rather confusing. According to them, using handwriting as the basis is not 100% accurate. I also believe that our handwriting could give others the idea of what our personality is. But maybe just a sneak of it. Some could be true but some could be not. Photo credit: pinterest.com

It might, but I don't think it tells much (if it does). My handwriting has changed a lot over the years, so I don't know how that can tell anything about my personality.

True. Our handwriting changes. And it also depends in our mood. So maybe they can tell something about us but not really accurate.

I agree with @cahaya1983. It may give only a sneak features of our personality but not as a whole.

It is very much interesting to have someone knows my personality just by looking on my handwriting. I do write fast and it has been my weakness. I don't have a good handwriting. My students most of the time complain.

As far as I know, teachers are required to learn cursive writing. And it is used by teachers in the elementary and secondary.

@magallon Yes, I know how to do cursive writing but my students don't understand my cursive writing. I also write fast and that becomes a problem.

@annierose handwriting is one of the reasons why I don't want to write on the board when I discuss something My handwriting is better on the paper than on the board.

I haven't practice my writing for a while now, and these days it hurts to write something. Looks like my carpal tunnel is acting up again.

Are you suffering from carpal tunnel for a long time now? It's really difficult to write if you have that defect.

Welcome back Reine. Haven't seen you for a long time. Don't worry if your handwriting is terrible. As long as other people could read it.

I don't know if I believe it or not. I know my handwriting has changed over the years, but I think it's because I seldom write, instead I use the computer. I think my handwriting changed because of non use.

I have pretty good handwriting since I use engineering lettering since I am an engineer but I don't think it says a lot about me since most engineers have the same handwriting as I am.

I guess you really can tell the personality by its handwriting . This is my perception ; a neat and legible handwriting means that the person is in real life a meticulous or a neat person too . She is systematized in doing things. My thoughts only .

@magallon ..Do you know why? Because one can't guess your personality from the answer sheet that you have submitted in exam as because the answer sheet written by you was carefully done.

I used to get complimented on my handwriting all the time, but now with arthritis, my writing has become terrible. But not as bad as my family doctor, his is uncomprehensible.

I have always been complimented on my handwriting. Back when I went to school the focus was always on handwriting. We had to practice, practice until it was just right. I am not sure it tells a lot of about a person but then again I have never really studied people's handwriting.

Every loop and every position of each letter has meaning. That's according to graphology. But not all it tells is true about a person.

People have been claiming this for 40 years. I think your assessment of it is right. Your writing can tell something about your personality but not all.

That's true. Not everything could be told about a person's personality by his handwriting alone. There should be other basis too.

this is what we call graphology. But, nobody is their hand nowadays. Everything is being done by typing on a computer. So how can we believe this branch of study.? No one is writing even a sentence in manuscript.

True. Almost all people now do not write by their hand. Even in schools, students use their cellphone camera to have a copy of their lectures. They do not even buy notebooks for their lectures.
