Insomnia.....struggling to sleep

India
September 7, 2016 7:55am CST
I don't know if it's change of time from Japan to india or what's wrong with me...I became so insomniac!!! I love to sleep and rest...proper sleep I guess is the best way to stay active... It's not more than 2 hours I sleep in a day and I don't feel tired too... I used that app which shows my sleep strength and it's always weak.. I feel so weird... Do you guys have a sound sleep?? How long do you sleep?

@shaheena11 Take it easy with medication, they can lead you to a very dark spot that will be hard to escape.talking from experience

@miniam yeah I agree with you...i usually don't prefer to take medication but I was so concerned About my health as I wasn't sleeping for about a month ...so I took medication but that was a useless option...I'm getting better now! Hopefully I recover completely soon..!

Insomnia is a normal thing nowadays. Though I sleep like a baby almost everyday. Recharging yourself is essential. You should probably try sleeping 4-5 hrs a day at least, otherwise you'll continue feeling more tired.

How long has it been? It could well be jetlag that you're experiencing. When I was traveling between the States and Malaysia my jetlag used to last like a week.

i sleep 5 to 9 hours a day. It really depends. i had that same experience when I was a bit younger. I tried sleeping early but it did not work so I started waking up early instead. Aside from that, I turned off all my gadgets. It took a bit time for me to adjust, but it did help me a lot.

how you sleep is not the correct question. do you have a sound sleep is the best question. yes, sleep quality is depends on the good sleep like a baby and not on the hours, of course, people say 7 to 8 hours good sleep is good for health. I usually sleep 7 hours

But it's really hard to have a tensionless sound sleep like a baby...! I hope I can sleep that way again!

When I can't have any sound when sleeping. If there is a sound, that sleep is also Shallow sleep..Shallow sleep is bad for health. It is better to not use a computer without mobile phone before going to bed, don't read a book.If you have a cup of hot milk is good for sleep.

@shaheena11,I have been a late sleeper for last ten years, but I don't think I suffer from imsomnia.Whenever I lie on bed,I begin feeling sleepy, but if I try to sleep, sleep keeps eluding me.

I normally get my sleep in. Around 9 hours of sleep. If I have to get up early, I go to bed early otherwise I stay up late and sleep late in the morning. You should really try medication prescribed by your doctor if you keep on struggling to sleep.

I understand your problem ,best remedy for this problem is don't sleep during day time, try to read books while you are going for sleep and you will definitely fell in sleep within 15 minutes

@enlightenedpsych2 Thanks for offering your help. His problems come mostly from his familial situation. A relative is making a lot of trouble.

@MALUSE oh...that's really a problem...may be that's the same reason for most of the people who suffer from insomnia...personal stuff is a common reason.
