Yes, the rice cooker can even make the cake. I learned it via the net. So last night I tried it and it was easy. This morning I put some peanut jam on it and it tastes so well The rice cooker can make more delicious food besides the rice only. In the past I even used it to cook chicken.

Yes, we can actually use it for lots of recipes , plus steaming of veggies and rice cakes . But at home , we only use it to cook rice for our whole day consumption.

I also use the rice cooker for other purposes not just for the rice. Like for boiling water or cooking our viands.

That is good to know. I know people who have gotten rid of their rice cooker and if they knew it was multi-purpose item they might keep it.

It is true. The rice cooker really can cook different dishes. It is like the microwave oven, it doesn't just to heat the food

@youless I would not like that the food transmit the "taste" to the pot. I only use it to cook Basmati rice.

In fact my rice cooker is a big one and I wonder a simple and small rice cooker may work better.

@youless perhaps a smaller one is more efficient and easy to practice with first, use the big one when you are an expert already or maybe you are an expert

What's wrong? If it doesn't taste well, put some peanut jam on it
• Philippines
13 Sep 16
@youless the taste was not the problem. one didn't rise, while the other rose too much.
