Steve Adams reports the news on Wednesday the Atlanta Braves have made a trade with the Seattle Mariners for the services of right handed pitcher Joe Wieland. Wieland was pitching for the Mariners AAA minor league team the Tacoma Rainiers at the time of the trade in which the Mariners will receive cash considerations in exchange for the services of the right handed pitcher. Wieland will likely be working with the Braves AAA team the Gwinnett Braves for the remainder of the minor league baseball season before he will join the Atlanta team as a reserve pitcher for the team. Wieland has pitched for the San Diego Padres from 2012, 2014, the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015 and the Seattle Mariners in 2016. Wieland did not pitch in the Major Leagues in 2013 due to Tommy John surgery that sidelined him that year.
