I am not an unobservant man. Really!

It's just that I never noticed, no not once did I ever notice that "X" that appears on my Notifications page when I read and comment on the things people say to me about my keyboard scribblings. Yet, I did notice lots of people saying they got through all their notifications and things like that. I idly wondered how they knew and went on about my business. But, let it be said, proclaimed even, that on this day, September 14, 2016, that I, a very sleepy fellow after a long day of driving, saw the light, I mean the X and will be using it forthwith and henceforth.

Well, I'm surprised. Surely you must have known THAT! And if you think I protesteth too strongly, you'd be absolutely right. I've never noticed it before or even known what it meant. But then I do get to people through my emails and rarely go to 'notifications' so I guess I have a bit of an excuse. But I'll use it in future as a check that I've visited those I need to. Thanks for the info. :)

Well, they kinda go away on their own after a while, whether read or not.

You must have thousands of notifications if you never use that X. Aren't you glad you saw it?

They go away on their own after a while, so not too many. I am glad that I saw it and found others who didn't know too.

Seriously? You too? I feel so much better! When you put your cursor on a notification, a black X shows and you can "X" that one out as read. You're kidding, right?

i didn't delete them before and let the system remove them after a week, but after spending a few days deleting them as a i go, i'm now used to zeroing them out. also, if you notice the broken lines under certain words in your notifications and hover your mouse there, it will reveal your response or comment that someone liked or commented on in case you'd like to remember what it was before opening the post.

I see the"X" after each notification. What are they there for? Aren't they for cancelling the notification? Well, I do go through some of them and respond when I feel inspired to do so.

It is to eliminate it after reading. I think that responding to one who comments is a good thing.

So basically your notifications just piled up for a while until they reached their time limit and disappeared That would drive me mad as I'd never remember who I'd got back to and who I hadn't...glad you've found the X

Oh, I read and responded to as many as showed up when I have been available, but did not even think about that X. Apparently, I am not the only one.

I too didn't notice it before until I read a post about clearing notification. I was thinking how she did it. Since I am using an iPhone I discovered it when I accidentally touched it I guess I need eyeglasses

I knew the notifications let me know but I didn't know I could remove them as I commented. I had a time figuring out who and where I was. Silly me learned how to get through them about the same time you learned about them.

I found the X months ago, but it tended to an uncooperative little button for me when using my iPad to mylot. Now I seem to be able to manage it much better and my notifications stay reasonable.
