My Daughter Brought Me More Post Cards Today

She had been telling me that she was going to get me some post cards for a few weeks, but never did, so I found a place that sells them, thanks to a friend who told me about this pharmacy. I purchased 30 post cards and she brought me ten more. Some were the same as what I had purchased, which was fine. However, she got a better deal than I did. So in the future, I will know where to purchase them at a BETTER price and I won’t have to drive so far. I have heard from a few people who have received my cards so far. I mailed out 10 last week. Some had a long way to travel, so it will be a while before they arrive at their destination. In the meantime, I need to go check my mail at the Post Office, which I have not done yet this week. I’m hoping that I will have some cards too. Today, I have my great grandson all day. He arrived here at 7:30AM and will be here all day. He’s 13 years old, so I may run over to the Post Office later this afternoon. I have a friend coming to my house for lunch today. So it will be a busy day. My great grandson is home schooled so I will be helping him with his lessons too.

I haven't received your postcard yet but I am expecting it to arrive any day now. Hope you had a good day with your great grandson. Did you get to go to the post office today?

My great grandson was here all day from 7:30 AM until 6 PM. He got all of his school work done early in the day because he wanted to spend some time with my grandson when he got home from school around 2 PM. So they got to play some video games together. My friend came for lunch also. She brought some delicious home-made chicken noodle soup. And I made grilled cheese sandwiches and we had some fresh lemonade. She stayed about two hours and we had a good time talking. I showed her some of my coloring book "masterpieces". She's actually an artist and she really liked my efforts. So, it was a good day. The weather will be cooler this week. In the 80s. So, tomorrow I will run a few errands and then I have friends coming over at 4 PM to play some cards again. I'm hoping to get my hair cut tomorrow, and get the car washed, if it isn't raining. That tropical storm is headed our direction, so I will have to wait and see.

@Happy2BeMe Yes, it was a very pleasant day. I love inviting friends over. I just got a call from one of the gals who are coming to play cards and she said that she was bringing chicken and salad so that I didn't have to make anything today. I usually provide the food, so that was a nice surprise.

I lead a fairly simple life now that I'm older. I used to have a much busier life until I retired. I traveled a lot for one thing, but now I'm pretty much at home and I enjoy inviting friends over for lunch and also to play cards. I am enjoying spending time with my grandchildren and great grandchildren who live nearby me. Except for one grandchild that lives in another state. I don't get to see him very often. He's in college now.

You will be busy it seems. I keep leaving your postcard on the hall table but I am determined to remember it today. In fact I'll go and put it in the car now. At least it will be one step closer.
