Finally a day I feel like I have time to put up a post. I thought I would share with you about hubby's and my day at the Kansas State Fair yesterday.
I had managed to save back $80 for our day. That was to cover our gate passes, buying lottery tickets at the lottery building and playing our favorite midway game, coin racers.
We packed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bananas, crackers, cherry pies, and our own sodas for the day. We also stopped for a free cup of peach mango ice cream courtesy of Turkey Hill.
The picture shows what we came home with.
At the lottery building when you spend $20 on tickets you get a token to spin the wheel for a prize. Hubby won a nice little tool kit and I won a really nice calculator. The money in the picture is the $19 that we won back from the tickets.
The seeds, postcards, etc are the few things we picked up from various booths. We didn't really choose to pick up too many of the freebies that booths offer. We needed that flashlight that I "won" for taking a boating quiz with the parks department. I will use the pill holder for bobbins with my sewing.
The keychains and other little toys are what we got out of the coin game. (Hubby messed up saying he didn't know I wanted to keep the little prizes and traded his in for more tokens ) With each of those you collect a blue coin that is traded for the larger prizes. We actually have 21 of those blue tokens as we are going back Saturday evening. (While there we seen a local Sara Lee worker and he gave us 2 free passes so we could come back another day)
I'm not sure what I will trade them in for. I have my eyes on some ashtrays for the guys and some figurines for the gals, and some things like bracelets and sidewalk chalk to add to gifts for the grandkids. Yes, all I get will be to add to my gift stash.
We had fun watching the Jump! Dog Show. I took several pictures and videos that I shared on rabadaba while we watched.
We went to the encampment building for some fun playing bingo for free. We were lucky and hubby got a bingo. I had him get me the Wilton pumpkin shaped cake pan and the paring knife for the prize.
We never go to the fair without hitting "camper land" and dreaming over the campers and RV's. Someday maybe that can be more than just a dream.
If you take off the $19 I brought back home, I think we had a nice day out together for $61.

Yes, I wasn't seeing pictures either...I wasn't sure if it was the site or my computer. They did come back later in the day.

As someone else said, with the free passes you actually spent less than $61. You guys need days away from all the rest of the family and the giving rides to people and so forth.

What a wonderful day you had and get it was great entertainment for $61 but then again you got free passes to go back again so you saved even more money. That is wonderful. I love going and looking at tall the campers and RVs when we go to the fair. I am glad that you had such a wonderful day out with your hubby.
