Final day of hubby's vacation

We decided to try out Taco Time for a quick lunch while we were in town. Not too bad! The white flour tortilla was a bit gummy to chew but the black beans and spot of sour cream made up for it. We've been buying Field Roast vegie products. One thing that we buy is like a ready made meat loaf. We heat up my home made buns and slap a chunk of that vegie roast in one with a sliced home tomato. Satisfying and tasty. We're discovering that this other way of eating costs us about the same as when we ate meat. Maybe even a little cheaper now that we bought a 25 bag of soybeans and hubby figured out how to make soy milk. We sure aren't sacrificing taste. We're gaining on health via nutrition. It feels good to be a team, learning together.

I am eating much less meat now, but I donĀ“t see myself as a vegetarian.

@Jessicalynnt My Dad had many health issues. He only made it to 68. (cigs, too) I am determined to live longer than he did. Plus this coming Spring I am going to tackle some hiking on steep trails. Sure not smart of me to try that at my present weight.

@Jessicalynnt Sciatica has been raring its ugly head a little lately. I must start stretching again- simple things like standing as straight as I can against the fridge for instance.

@ricki_911 I think I had a kiddo sized taco but it filled me just fine.

Home made soymilk? Sounds good. There's a recipe for it in Carla Emery.

@TRBRocks420 A good deal of this final vacation week has been a bust due to the illness that came back from Oregon with us.

It's good that you're both on the one team with this. Glad it's working out for you.
