@DominicHzd i was financially crashed so remained single.. parents asked me to get married in such time but i didn't wanted any woman to suffer in such financial phase...
now i am in 30s i can get married but it's hard.. to fall in love now.... now marriage will happen to get rid of loneliness .. who knows i may fall in love but it's hard you know.

@skysnap i totally understand what u r trying to say. You know pressure like your peers or even parents... but i think u have to be honest with what u r really facing, with that, throwing away that ego, maybe u will find that optimal way of natures coarse.

Unfortunately in India, it's almost mandatory @princemaxp . However, if you are of legal age, you could tell them that you would rather leave the household and sever all ties with them, than get married. See how they like that one.

@DominicHzd Indian marriage have two function, one from the girl side and another from boy side....ofcourse girl's side cost is greater than boy's side.

but if im not wrong, in india the cost of marriage is actually handled by the females family side i suppose?

Just tell your parents that you are not yet ready to get married .. and make them understand that it's not up to them .. It is your life and that's it..

I had never imagined getting married until I met my ex-boyfriend,now my husband. Many were surprised when we started sending wedding invitation.

I am not ready for marriage, reason is both financial and pressure of the change....I am just 25 and I still have to make my financial position strong so that I would not face problem in future life. I also have been living alone without any relationship, and suddenly they are forcing me to get married ......I am just afraid of being in relationship.
