The Thanksgiving Table Runner is Finished!

Last week I went through the exhibitors program to see what I could enter into the fall fair competition. A couple of full size quilts, a few baby quilts, a lap quilt and a table runner. I decided I had time to complete a few more projects. Since last week, I've finished two table runners, one Christmas and one for Thanksgiving. A table topper and now two aprons. Hopefully by tomorrow night I also have a few placemats and another apron complete. Usually I don't try to complete so many projects in such a short period of time, but the weather this summer has not been conducive to sewing. The last week was cooler. Today we are back to hot and humid. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more temperate.

Gosh, you have been busy. I used to enter a lot of crochet once - in a previous life!

Nothing like a short deadline to keep me focused.

Having a deadline keeps me focused. Also knowing what the winnings will be spent on is a great motivator.

I'll know on Friday. Usually I go to the fair on Thursday night, but this year I have a prior commitment. I'll write a discussion about the results next weekend.

Choosing the fabrics is the challenge. I don't want to run out to buy more fabric.....so I dig through my generous stash and come up with a combination that works. At least 40 different prints and colours "auditioned" for a place in the table runner. Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks. The challenge has been....use what I have. Find stuff that works together and make something. Today I managed to make two thanksgiving placemats, two Christmas placemats, and a apron and a pillow. What will I make tomorrow.

That is absolutely beautiful. I like to make quilts but mine are simple squares. I would love to have your skill. Good luck in the competitions.

My quilts have progressed. My first ones were very simple squares. I still avoid curves unless it is appliquéd.
