We'll be away for a while

Tomorrow morning early we head out in the bus/motor-home and will be gone for about ten days. I think it is lovely that friends here actually start to notice if people are 'missing' for too long so I'm giving due notice. I don't want to have to turn up with a 'late slip' when I return.
We are supporting a friend who is tackling more of the Bibbluman track, a walking trail that goes from Perth, Western Australia to Albany on the south coast. Lynn has done most of the walk but has the most difficult part to tackle over the next few days. It is still quite cold and wet but when she meets us each night, she'll have a hot meal, hot shower and warm bed waiting for her. I've even packed a hot water bottle.
And I've changed my avatar. Did you notice? Vince wanted to practise taking portraits and after 37, he managed to come up with one that I thought wasn't too bad. Do you like the cap? It's actually Vince's but I think I might get one of my own. I quite like it. I can't pinch his as it's too big for me. Maybe if I washed his it would shrink and then I could have it. What do you think?

Thanks for the warning Judy, you know that I do miss my friends when they disappear. It's kind of you to help your friend by providing a safe warm haven for her every night.
Regarding your avatar - has Vince got something against the bottom of your face?? I like the part I can see, and the cap looks fun.

yes, i noticed your new picture earlier today.
i love how colorful that picture is, how tall the trees are.
knowing there's a hot meal, hot shower, warm bed, hot water bottle and friends to talk to is so motivating and comforting.
it would be cute if you and vince wore matching caps.

I love wearing caps. Nice pic. I wish you luck and hope your friend achieves her goal. Nice to have friends like you helping out especially when the weather is not too good.

@JudyEv Your new profile picture is nice.I noticed the change immediately.Can the photo be cropped in such a way that your full face is visible.I think it is great that you are supporting your friend in this way.

I suppose I should really try to buy my own. I think I might get a red one. Do you know a poem by Jenny Joseph about an old lady who says she will wear purple when she is old? With a red hat that doesn't match. I guess that was the foundation for the Red Hat Society.
