Lynching today 3:00 - 6:00 PM Atlantic Time

Canada
September 21, 2016 11:39am CST
I'm not going to the focus meeting this afternoon. I'm not a big fan of our chief supervisor but I don't feel I should lend my voice to those that want get rid of her. Without going into any real detail, she got foisted on us after her last assignment petitioned to get rid of her. I can't say she doesn't deserve it but part of me does feel sorry for her. We'll hear about the results tomorrow I'm sure. I'm just not comfortable participating or even watching. I've heard enough of the complaints. Ever had this happen at your employment?

Yeah, it has and people ganged up on her because they were jealous. Not because she was unfit. I haven't seen you for awhile here. Is it me not being here too often?

@koopharper oh so it's really true that I haven't seen you around. And it's not just because I haven't been here most of the time.

I haven't been commenting or posting much lately. Have been busy with other projects and will be for awhile yet. I am lurking in the background when ever I get a chance.

What's going on? I've seen good people harassed and bad people kept on. I've seen the opposite too.

I don't think she is a bad person. I just think she is very ill suited for the position. I don't understand how they can keep her on. They do though. She is still working in the same position although she appears to be getting more oversight. That only addresses a few of the issues though.

Never pretty when those things come about. Have had those things happen, but company was a little more quiet about it and you would never see the person in question again if the company found that the person in question was at fault. That does sound like a lynching and am with you as not wanting any part of it.

Oh yeah, my last job was at a newly built school. My desk was right outside the CEO's office. I saw people after they got fired, students under suspension or expelled, and so many crying parents. We all felt uncomfortable, even though sometimes we knew exactly what was going to happen once that door closed. I would stay away, too. The outcome will be the same and you might dodge some bad Karma.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. This is best left alone. I think she was shipped to us as some kind of last chance to redeem or condemn herself. My thought is to give her the chance to crash on her own. We shouldn't need to give her a push. I feel a little sorry for her because her reputation preceded her. Upper management wasn't playing straight with her either. I saw her demand answers over an incident which would have upset me as well. When they did our big renovation a woman was added to the crew for no apparent reason by outside management. That never happens. I smelled a rat and it didn't take our beleaguered boss long to get the same impression. To this day I don't know what that was all about. It wasn't good though. I question whether she really is being given a real chance or if this is just some kind of charade. If she goes I honestly think her loudest detractor should go as well. I don't think he's better for the restaurant that she is.

I tend to decide to stay out of stuff like that unless I have something really constructive to offer

By all accounts it was brutal but she is still working as the store manager although she is getting a lot more oversight. I wanted no part of it and still don't.

I would like to think that there is a kind solution to this. It has gone on way to long. I think the higher ups have known about a lot of the issues and am baffled as to why it has been handled the way it has.
