Ready For Bed!!!!

Today was such a long day.... I worked from 6am until 1:30, went home, took a short nap, and then went back to work at 5pm and worked until 11. We had a three hour long meeting in which I pointed out how frustrating it is to constantly stay late every day and never go home at a decent time and the response was that we need to work faster. I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off from the moment I walk into that building until the moment I leave and they want me to work faster? I'm not a robot! These expectations are unrealistic. Our store is so busy that we need extra help and they aren't giving it to us. I'm so frustrated. I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm super thankful that I have tomorrow off work cause I really need a day to chill. I'll be babysitting in the morning and then I plan to do some things that will make me happy. I'm wanting to teach myself to play the piano and ukulele so I'm going to start practicing tomorrow. :-)

Sadly this is what the world is coming to. Businesses expecting more and more from their staff but prepared to give them less and less. I'm glad I'll be leaving the corporate world behind me in a few years. I really feel for young people today. The expectations of employers are ridiculously unrealistic for the pathetic salaries they are prepared to pay. And they call it progress!!

@missjessicadawn Mrs WorDazza is in a similar position. Her job isn't badly paid but it's not great. Recently they've started expecting so much more from everyone but with no increase in salary or other benefits. People are leaving in droves and they're being replaced by people with no experience. But hey, they're cheap so it's all good as far as the employer is concerned!!

@WorDazza I don't understand what businesses are thinking when this kind of thing happens. Maybe they enjoy the fact that they are getting rid of people who have earned raises and are being paid more and they're replacing them with people who can be paid at a lesser amount. It's ridiculous. At this point, I feel like my health is more important than the pay and benefits. I'm constantly stressed out and I'm losing sleep. I'd hate to think of the condition I'll be in if I stay until retirement...

I'm definitely not seeing the progress at all. Although my job does pay a lot more than minimum wage and it has excellent benefits, I still don't feel that it's enough to make up for the unrealistic expectations they are putting on us. The stress is too much and people who have been there for years are now quitting because of it. It's crazy.

I used to have a keyboard that I practiced on but it broke. I couldn't play for a while but I recently got a new one so I'm excited to start practicing again. Yes, work people are jerks. lol

Wow! 16 hours? Seems like you really needed it! There are nights where I sleep a long time and still feel tired and then there are others where I sleep 3 hrs and feel refreshed. lol It's weird.

Busy work will always keep you in good health and mentally alert. This is a boon for you. There are people who expect salaries without any work. This is more in India. They can not turn out at least half of what you have done in the store.

I don't mind hard work at all. I was raised to work hard to get what I want in life. This has never been the problem. The problem is when my hardest work never seems to be enough and a job keeps expecting more and more from me and doesn't appreciate anything. It's frustrating.
