When Our Lives Get So Busy We Forget to Breath

I have been running at a record pace for the last few days. Not physically running as in jogging but busy with all the things I need to do. Yesterday for instance, we had exercise class at 11:10 a.m for an hour, we then grabbed a bite to eat, went grocery shopping, picked up Jack at school, came home and put away the groceries. While putting away groceries doesn't sound like a big deal, it is. I cut up watermelon, put berries in glass jars and made chocolate milk for Jack to use up the last of the milk so I could put the new milk away. I then fell asleep in my recliner for one My Little Pony Show that Jack was watching. I guess I was an exhausted granny!! His mom arrived at 5 p.m. to pick him up and take me with her. After we dropped Jack at her house, 20 miles away, we drove another 15 miles to where we have show tickets for the evening. We met up with my best friend to have dinner and then watched Catching Rainbows, which by the way is a great show. I arrived back home after 10:30 p.m. I got ready for bed and then watch a WDYTYA episode about Billy Connolly which was fascinating before falling asleep. I slept so sound I never heard Grandson Alex when he left to go hunting early in the morning. So that was my day, no time for housekeeping at all. I need to spend a little time on fall cleaning. Before we went to exercise, I had to update my blogs and try to at least visit a few MyLot posts. I haven't been able to download anything to Clickasnap. I need to slow down a bit and take a breath, how about you?

I can imagine. It is not easy being a nurse even when you love the patient. Today we visited a lavender farm and the Nathan Hale school house so much more fun.

Good think time usually flies when we are running around like that or else we'd be holding out breath for too long...

I work 3 full time shifts a week and 2 half ones, and on the days that I am working all day I feel like you explain, and then if I'm busy on the weekends the next day off I will fall asleep at the drop of a hat. That was quite the busy day you had!

@BelleStarr I see that in a lot of retirees. My husband's eldest sister retired from the hospital about 9 years ago, it took 6 people to fill her shoes, so she was busy at work as she ran several departments, but since she's retired, I like to call her the road runner, because she's always emailing me on the fly. And it makes me so happy to know that because we work hard enough and long enough that should we be blessed to live to see retirement, then we should be able to go go go if that is what our heart desires.

That is very true! By the way, are you enjoying your busyness? I have been busy lately too. November will be the busiest month in my department so I am trying to do everything in advance.

@BelleStarr It probably would have tired me out a lot. I guess I get tired so easily because 1) I am up so early in the morning and 2) when my RA or fibromyalgia acts up, it makes me tired.
