Vintage Presto Hamburger Griddle

My previous post described a hamburger that I had made, and how delicious it was. A member here wanted to know what I made it on. I wish I could post more than one pic, but can't...so I am doing an overall pic. I also am posting this, for anyone who wishes to purchase one like it, even if it is a different make/model. This vintage Presto Burger Griddle, is exactly what I purchased at a thrift store for $2. Even used...it is selling on ebay for $37...so I got the little griddle for a nice price. One side has a round insert and the other side has a square insert. You can also use this to make hot sandwiches, like grilled cheese, or ham and cheese...etc. You can also grill chicken breasts for sandwiches too. Even cook eggs on it, if you like. When you are done cooking, you just lift the burger off the griddle with the blue handle. The insert has holes in it, so the grease can drain to the bottom of the pan. It cooks the hamburgers rather quickly. All you have to do with this one, is plug it in...and it starts heating up really fast. I like to use this device, when I don't want to pull out a lot of pots and pans. The downside is...you can't add anything to the burger while cooking, or saute onions with it...etc. But nonetheless...it is a great device to use when you are in a pinch.

I have one of those things, but it's not called a Presto Burger, it is some other brand, but it does the same thing! I love making burgers and hot sandwiches in it, and it is almost fool-proof to use, and very easy to clean up!

I forgot to mention... I started out with a different brand to begin with, that someone gave me for my first apartment right after high school. But when I lost all my possessions...of course I lost that... So when I found this at a thrift store, I was delighted to get something similar back.

Actually , we also have aomething like that , a waffle maker and a sandwich maker . After using them for about more than a month and saw that it made our electric bill increase , we didn't use it ever again .

Wow... Sorry to hear that... The electricity in America has energy saver now, so a unit like the one I have now, we never really notice an increase in our bill, because it does not take up that much electricity.

@SIMPLYD - It depends upon how you cook it.

Dear Teresa, I have never seen one. But I´ll be on the look out of maybe discover something similar. I have found out that each country has some utensils that are not used in other parts of the world. In my country, pressure cookers are a must in a kitchen. But we don´t have crockpots. Maybe it is because we mainly use gas to cook. Thank you very much for your post. I know it had my name on it

Well... Maybe you can find it online and have it shipped to you? Would that be possible?
