Gut or Knowledge !

I am really delighted to know how many of us are relying on either Gut or Knowledge while making a decision. I tentatively state that most of us are relying on Gut while making decision rather than knowledge.
It is apparent Decision made based on Gut is mostly wrong however we go by the Gut usually.
Has anyone ever wondered Why?
