Look what I got from a MyLot friend!

One of my favorite MyLotters and I decided to trade coasters recently! We both make things in our spare time, so why not? I'm using one on mine on my desk. It is my official coffee coaster while I work at my computer. The other is one one of my shelves, supporting a "scuplture." Have you ever met or exchanged material possessions with a fellow MyLotter? It makes it seem more "real" to me!

Very nice coasters. So far I have only done the postcard thing here but I've only been here a month. Years ago I use to have pen pals all over the world and we exchanged may things. It was always a thrill to get something in the mail from a far away friend.

I may do a bit more of that as time goes on. I can send people music I like on the internet, or recommend books. But sending something I made seems even cooler.

I did exchange coins...but after I exchanged the coin, it acquired much more value and I am left guilty ...

@TheHorse .. Now if I call him home, he would spend more on traveling..lol. But honestly, it was not that valuable on the day we exchanged, I checked...my former neighbors gave me some old coins which are suddenly very valuable...feel so guilty. May be it is random and unpredictable stuff...I will confirm it a couple of times, and send the money across may be.

No I haven't but I wouldn't mine doing so. Just to keep it simple, I'll be trading things with my twin sister here in myLot. Paging @toniganzon ... what you want to trade for twin sister? I guess it makes sense to trade with someone living in the same country for starters. We can then move on to trading stuff with myLotters from other parts of the world. Just my two cents.

Exactly! I'm ambivalent about this whole "tiny world because of technology" thing. I still enjoy face-to-face interaction, as when my Filipino friend, my Indian neighbor, and my young Croatian neighbor friend all converged on my balcony the other night.

Nice coaster that is nice that the two of you exchanged coasters. I have never exchanged anything with any of my mylot friends. I do however think it would be fun to do maybe exchange Christmas cards or something.

Funny that the internet continues to be my "secret world." I did get one friend to write on Epinions, and he wrote great music reviews, but when Epinions folded, he stopped doing the internet writing thing.
