When I was a child before 10 yrs. of age, I had the nick name of "skinny legs" Why? because I didn't seem to care a lot for eating certain things. I did love drinking milk though and eating bread and sweets. but not meat nor potatoes so much.
Then at 11 yrs. Every single Friday we went to an authentic Italian restaurant . I grew to love spaghetti . Couldn't get enough of it. I would eat it there till my stomach hurt. That was the start of many years fighting over weight issues.
In 2004, I got H-Pylori. a stomach/intestines infection. and even though I got over it over a couple years later, have never been able to gain back weight. So here I am still loosing like crazy. I weigh only 111 pounds right now. lost 3 more lbs. in 4 months. I used to so admire and want to be one of those thin older ladies, but no more. Just don't know what to do. anyway, that is whats on my mind as the question asks when you start a discussion. what do you think?
poor Coco seems a bit off her food today too. I guess we are just 2 old ladies with no tolerance.
btw, I was never fed dry cereal every morning and some fruit like this. lol

good idea. I probably should eat more rice like I have been feeding Coco. seems to help her allergies. just really am a bit lactose intolerant.

@bunnybon7 If you are a bit lactose intolerant opt for brown rice or the Basmati rice, they are safe to eat even for those who are lactose intolerant.

If you do not care for meat and potatoes, maybe you should try things like bananas and avocados and peanut butter. Does the doctor have any opinion about your weight loss?

Maybe to get back to a better weight you should trty one of those extra protein things lie ensure to gain back a few pounds. I have ths opposite problem I need to lose at least'
40 pounds to be at my best weight I had lost 24 then got off the exercise and cut down
regime and regained most now I weigh 176 way too much. Iam dabetic so the extra weight
is not helping a bit but I am in contrl of my blood sugar.

as long as your blood sugar is good and you feel good it is all that matters at this point I think. I hate insure and most drinks like that cause they are all sweet tasting. now if they only made like steak and bacon flavor? that would be awsome

Growing up I loved spaghetti too! I think I mostly ate anything, but I didn't eat a lot. My parents would often take away my milk because I drank too much of it before eating a real meal. Back then we didn't really eat snacks though . . . the thought never occurred to us for some reason. Kids today snack often it seems. What does the doc say?

@much2say yes I have tried to eat lots of fattening things but can't tolerate to much grease etc. on my tummy either which doesn't help

@bunnybon7 Maybe it's what you eat versus how much you actually eat? As others have already said, pastas and rice should help . . . I know when I do eat a lot of it, I will poof up in certain areas .

not my baby. its my grandsons step. and this is what they give her every single morning. dry cereal and some fruit sometimes. i used to feed mine oatmeal or eggs, etc. if i gave them cereal, i usually gave it for a snack while i cooked something. until they learned to eat on their own.

to many at this point but i still try to even with the IBS i have gotten at my age. i actually asked grandson to go get spaghetti stuff and make it this evening after i did this post. i thought maybe if i go back to eating some of what fattened me up before a little at a time it might help. lol

Stoneyboney was my nickname. I was 5'11" and 125 pounds. I ate everything in sight but was so physically active I couldn't gain any weight. It wasn't until I was in my early 60's that I jumped up to 150 pounds (due to peanut butter cups). Now at 65, I'm 5'8" tall and 113 pounds. @bunnybon7

oh my you got really thin for your height. 150 sounds like it would be right for you as a perfect weight maybe a little more

@bunnybon7 I have to be careful about how much I weigh now because of my spinal injuries. The only thing holding me vertical are the muscles that run down both sides of the spine. Excessive weight would be a bad thing.
