Facing The Facts

I'm not one to beat on a dead horse. I like to be realistic about matters and although I think I have the talent to be a writer, I know it will never gain me fame. There will be no accolades for me as a writer. No one will ever make a movie based on any book or story I've written or may write in the future. Writing won't buy my dream house or provide me with financial ease in my senior years. My children won't be inheriting my writing millions. What I do know is that I like writing and I'm told I'm pretty good at it. I do it for the enjoyment and it was only at the suggestion of others that I even thought about publishing. So I think I'll just write because I want to. Maybe toss a story in an anthology when the opportunity comes up. Will I ever be rich or have my dream house? Maybe, but it won't be from my talents but rather from hard work and keeping my goals.

Just give it try by contacting publishers and writing for theater play studios. Also look at the directors and writers who are doing well or got some work because they gave it a try.

I already have two books published and have a third I'm writing. Another is in the editing process right now. I'm not giving up on writing. Not sure plays are my thing, although I'm told I'm pretty good at dialog.

I have written in my native language for most of my life. I´m not one of those writers whose stories are liked by the bigger public. And I will never be famous. The truth is, I don´t care. As long as I like to do something, that is enough for me. Of course, I one of the privileged ones. I have enough money to do what I like to do. And fame and fortune are not something I desire.
