Political Debate

My sister and I had agreed to watch the first Presidential Debate last night and I told her it wouldn't take but 20 minutes for them to start slamming each other. Well, I was close; it was 22 minutes. These two act like kids fighting on a playground and let me tell you folks, the US isn't a playground. Personally I don't like either candidate but if we're stuck with either of them, it would be nice to know their view on a topic without the rhetoric. NBC news in Dallas had an unbiased panel of people to watch the debate and give their commentary afterwards and every single one of them (both Democrat and Republicans) said the debate was worthless. I think in November I'll write my name in on the ballot.

I am so glad to be Canadian because I truly could not vote for either one of them if I lived there.

We didn't watch because there isn't anything either of them could say that would sway our vote. That would have been 2 hours of my life I couldn't get back had I watched it. It is a shame that they can't act mature.

When they started their bull-dookie, you can bet I changed channels @Dena91 . I watched Tiny House Hunters instead. Now 'maybe' when the ones running for VP do their debate on 10/4, it might be better.

@nanette64 We'll probably watch that one. More curious about their thoughts.

@nanette64 That amounts to a vote for Trump. Third party candidates have zero meaning in this election, which I see as the most important in my over fifty years of voting.

I've been saying for a while: April Fools' is over. Where are the real candidates?

I've always been a Republican @msiduri but I'm voting Independent. Yeah, I know that person won't win, but at least I'd have a clear conscience.

@nanette64 I know the person I'm voting for won't win either, but I find both the major party candidates unacceptable. One I dislike and the other I despise. I can vote for neither in good conscience.

There ya go @HazySue . And what's sad is that both of those critters have more sense than the 2 running.

I am so with you. Oh my goodness, full grown people acting like little children - not just any grown ups but those running for the presidency.

The rhetoric is also taking its toll on the candidates. I saw stress is effecting both. In breathing, in posture, in more wrinkles and in tone. It is counterproductive and a waste of energy. They should look at each other less but if they do make it shorter?

Ha, you write your name in on the ballot?! O, well, I would love to see that beautiful face as prez of the United States than that of Hillary!

I'm surprised it took as long as 22 minutes. I think someone should start up a vigorous campaign for 'None Of The Above'.

I agree with you. I've never followed politics until this election and it is absolutely disgusting. I may not vote this time and that would be a first for me. I think the second debate will be even worse and Trump will enter into it much more aggressively than the first debate. It will be hard to watch. Like you said, I would prefer to hear more about the issues.

This is one of the craziest elections I've ever seen, I don't like either one of the candidates so I don't know who I'm going to choose. We've got a couple of more weeks for this craziness, then it'll be over.
