It is Harder than Work

Sometimes having fun is harder than work, in my opinion.
It could be because no one tells you what to do for fun, but at work often someone makes the choices and decisions for you. You have a guideline or directions.
For me it could be because I want everything to live up to my expectations. I expect "perfection".
So, I have taken a day off work for Friday, and @marsha32 and I are gonna go have fun. We are going on a quilt shop hop. I am driving.
I do not know what to think. I have not done a "girl's day" in ages.
I am looking forward to it.

The last "girls' day out" was fun, but nerve-wracking. I drove a friend to go shopping for the day in a large city. Loved the time together and the shopping, but if you knew what a timid driver I am, you'd never have imagined I would attempt that. Probably won't try it again.

Some of the driving witll be big city and some will be country or small town. I will even get to go places I have never been. I am a cautious driver.

I loved living in Kansas, and often got together with the girls, we would drive for hours to get to a football game (hubby was a coach) and we often made it a day to shop too. I hope you had a blast.

There is a lot of room to do some driving.I am not sure I would do this much driving for a game but we have driven quite a bit for car shows.

@PainsOnSlate So you did a lot of traveling out west. We were more on the east side for our trips, but I have been to Pratt and to Garden City.

@GardenGerty when your husband is the coach and you know all the kids, you go to games. He coached in the Junior College system at Pratt, Independence and in Garden City. I've never been to a car show but I bet I would like it...

@GardenGerty I think you would benefit from this by making this a little of both so that you are somewhat in your comfort zone. Work on letting it be fun lol. When a person is a perfectionist its difficult to purposely color outside the lines and feel comfortable so making it a job to be okay with doing so is a good approach to the matter at hand.

It will be fun to see new sites. I have several "girlfriends" that I do not do stuff with enough. I hope to do more visiting with friends.

A "girl's day out" would be something, an activity, that mostly women would be interested in doing, or would be something where we will not take our husbands with us. It will be a change to visit all these stores as we have not been to many of them.

I doubt young people would think my plans are fun. Maybe I would be more accurate calling it socialization.

I have the camera in my bag, and do plan on lots of pictures. I am sure Marsha will do the same. We shall share the good times, and perhaps a hug is in order.It will be so good to do something out of the ordinary.

Oh we saw lots of quilts. Marsha took lots of pictures.We found bargains on fabric for our existing projects.
