I came across an article today saying that there was a poll taken about what the best books are that were made to films. I was thinking, "Hey, how come it is I never find out about these interesting polls and get to put my two cents worth in?" I looked on and found that the poll was taken in the UK and I live in the USA..... no wonder I didn't see the poll anywhere. LOL! However the poll results turned out the way that I would of voted anyway, The poll results in the UK are as follows: 1. The Harry Potter series (JK Rowling) 2. A Christmas Carol (Charles Dickens) 3. The Shawshank Redemption (Stephen King) 4. The Lord of the Rings saga (JRR Tolkien) 5. James Bond series (Ian Fleming) 6. The Bourne series (Robert Ludlum) 7. The Green Mile (Stephen King) 8. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Roald Dahl) 9. The Hobbit (JRR Tolkien) 10. Forrest Gump (Winston Groom) 11. Bridget Jones’s Diary series (Helen Fielding) 12. Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton) 13. The Chronicles of Narnia series (CS Lewis) 14. The Jungle Book (Rudyard Kipling) 15. The Godfather (Maria Puzo) 16. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Ken Kesey) 17. The Hunger Games trilogy (Suzanne Collins) 18. Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen) 19. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll) 20. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Steig Larsson) Wonder if they are going to do this poll in the USA as well and how I can find out how and when to participate?

I'd rather see a poll on books that should be made into movies and aren't.

Perhaps you could start a poll. Girl on a train is a good book and is out on film soon.

Slanted toward British books which is to be expected. Gone With The Wind is a gross absence. The Godfather should be placed much higher. David Lean's Great Expectations and Bridge Over the River Kwai missing? That makes this list absurd and too weighted by the recent.

Yes, Gone with the Wind should very much so be on that list.

I'm not happy with the fact that Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland is only 19, it should be more than 19.

No matter how great the movies might be, they never succeed in reaching the levels of essence obtained from books. Books are always heavenly! Even the topper in list, Harry Potter films, haven't done enough justice to the books!
