I left the light on

My time here will be on again and off again- more than usual. A dear friend and spirit sister is in need so hubby and I have agreed to shelter her for a week or so. I drove about 2 hours yesterday to pick her up from her daughter's house. She waits for a spot in low income housing to open. That should happen in October. Should. Spots for low income housing are prized by many. Its been a year since her beloved passed on. Tonight we'll light the oil lamp and at least have a moment of silence. Thankfullness and memories and love. All wrapped up in fifty years with her beloved. We'll remember loyalty and good times and bad times. And what marriage is. I hope all is well in your houses and lives. Take good care.

I see people like this all the time, and often wish I could afford many acres, I'd put tiny houses with little yards, and rent them out esp for those with low income. I'd have some really nice ones for those who could pay, to help. Heck I'd rent a few out for free, to earn those spots you'd do landscaping and mowing and gardening and stuff.

@sallypup I have a dream of something like that, always have, the actual format of the place changes, but there is always many places for people to live with a common goal,.

@Jessicalynnt You would make a great admiral and leader for such a place!

I'm glad you are helping her. It can be so hard when medical bills come - everything's so expensive and when you are old there's no way of making more money to supplement a retirement. So I'm glad she has a warm, safe place to be while her housing situation is settled.

@Rohvannyn Who knows how long it will take for her to get into Senior Housing. The lists are super long.

@bunnybon7 This lady has a dog but someone is caring for her. My ark is full to the hilt with 2 dogs and 3 cats. Having an animal makes a super hard situation. Plus the dog could not hassle the chickens and turkey.

Sounds like a good spiritual time for you all. Hopefully your friend will get her housing soon.
