All I can do is Cry

There has been a shooting at a South Carolina elementary school. Two children were airlifted to a hospital. A teacher was taken in an ambulance. A teenager is in custody. The coroner is at a nearby house where someone was supposedly killed.
What is happening to America and society? It seems that everything is disintegrating. I don't know what to do except pray and hope things get better. But it is not happening. What can we do?

@akalinus I think it was about a year ago that we had to deal with a bomb threat at our school - well all the schools in the district. They called school off that day . . . but it hit home that the stuff we hear in the news was now happening to us. In the end it turned out to be a hoax type thing, but still, it doesn't feel good that we all have to live in fear like this.

@much2say My youngest child spent his last year of high school standing on the athletic fields while they searched the school for bombs. It was happening almost every day. Never did learn if they found who was doing it. They had to evacuate the school every time while the canines went through searching.

It is such a sad world we live in. I will be praying for the families of the little ones. =( I thank God every day I hear of such news that I Home School my children.

There needs to be more people talking to teenagers making them feel they are important and finding out what the issues are. They need to know someone cares. When there are problems showing someone has to come forward. That might help. Start the dialogue.

Now they have arrested that 14 year old for killing his father. Luckily the children were not killed.

It is a mess, isn't it?
Once thought to be a safe place for children, schools are now also locations where such things happen.

Yes, it's so sad that these things are happening all over the place. The world really has gone crazy.
I have no idea what we can do other than pray.
