Team Saving Toothpaste -or- Team Wasting Toothpaste

Do you get every last drop out of your toothpaste? The toothpaste brand my entire family uses is Sensodyne. When I find our toothpaste on sale at Target - I will definitely stock up. However, there was one time I forgot and was completely out of toothpaste. I did have back up toothpaste like trial sizes I would get from the dental office goody bag, but I am not a fan of them. So being desperate, I cut the toothpaste at the bottom and score! There was still a lot of toothpaste left even though I thought I had squeezed the life of the toothpaste! But since then, I never ran out of toothpaste so I don't cut the toothpaste container.

My children are definitely Team Wasting - they open a new tube as soon as not enough come out simply in one quick squeeze...

I used to do the same when I was younger. My mom sometimes goes in my restroom and secretly squeezes my toothpaste bottom up for me sometimes because she hates seeing me squeeze from the center.

@sishy7 There is surprisingly a lot of product left in the toothpaste still.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, my husband and I become the Team Saving - while I squeeze until the very last drop, he does what you did, cut the bottom with a pair of scissors...

Being old and wise - I have a 'stock' of necessities - TP, toothpaste, shampoo, soap - so I never run out.

@infatuatedbby I think if i cut it open it would be very unhygienic to use the toothpaste.

We also use sensodyne...yeah every toothpaste tube has this same problem. We just throw then thinking it's over but if we cut it, we can see there's lot more remain inside,,,specially near the opening...

Yes you are right. Near the opening there is a lot more product than we think!

@infatuatedbby It can be used for another 2-3 days even. so I think it's better if they can remove that hard round part near the opening n just keep only the hole with a lid...

It is good to be resourceful in emergencies and you met the emergency head on and overcame it. Good for you!

we buy colgate. there's only one that uses sensodyne here because of sensitive teeth. we also squeeze it to the last drop. the cutting up the tube happens here with creamy facial wash and hair conditioner.

I was amazed to see how much product was left when I cut the toothpaste. I think I will do it more often now. I don't have sensitive teeth but I still like it. My parents like this toothpaste as well as it was recommended by their dentists.

I squeeze my toothpaste center and when I can't anymore, I will go back to the bottom and squeeze up. But only one time I have opened the toothpaste.

I always cut the bottom of the tube, because the toothpaste is not cheap and it's a shame to waste so much product.

I do the same thing. I squeeze it to get the last drop. Everytime I do my grocery, I buy in packs (those sold in 2s and they are on sale) so that I won't run of toothpaste.
