~Making Couponing Part Of Home Schooling~

My kids are going to help me with my new couponing adventure. I am just starting and just learning but I am excited to save some money as we need it. So...when we get the coupons the kids are going to help me by cutting them out with me and organizing them! =) They will learn all about using coupons, math and budgeting at the same time. Good life lesson and helps momma too-win win for everyone! We had an awesome Home School day yesterday and I am hoping to have the same for today. =) Right now the kids are having independent reading time while I'm on here. Then we will do the rest of our work for the day. Do you use coupons? Do you have any tips for a newbie at this?

Sounds like it's going to be a fun Home School Day again when the coupons arrive... Yes, I like to use coupons as much as I can, but I'm no where near an expert on that. I'll be coming back to this discussion for tips myself...

I do, read your stores coupon policy, some allow only one to double, some allow all to double, go to Coupon mom . com, that is how I learned, she gives the works! To get more coupons ask the people at church to save them for you, free money in my book! On holiday weekend there are no inserts. Go to southern savers site and look at the 2016 schedule, so you will know what to expect, you can get email reviews of them also.

I only use the digital coupons from the 2 grocery stores that I shop at. I get frustrated when I hand coupons in and they tell me that I can't use this or that because, it wasn't the right size or it needed to be the specific style or I already used the coupon on the digital side. So to save myself the aggravation I gave up. The only time I use paper coupons is when it is attached to the side of something I bought that can be used for that specific item. I tried downloading a couple of apps for extra savings but wasn't happy with the one apps layout and the other won't let me download but a few of the extra coupons because I'm at the beginning stages and you apparently have to earn them. So I find it very frustrating, instead I just try to watch whats on sale and when I get to use digital coupons it's a bonus. Things are no longer as tight as they once were and so I know longer have to penny pinch at the grocery store. The days of driving to 5 different stores to save a few bucks here and there are over. I still like a good bargain, and I love to save money, but I don't have that kind of time anymore. Good luck with the coupons, I hope that it works out and you save a bundle.

I think that is a great idea. Yes, I would use store coupons available on loyalty cards, and websites with other electronic coupons and print coupons for extra savings.

Now this is what needs to be taught in public school!! I've signed up to several places for tips on couponing, but just never follow through on it, maybe I should!!

@STOUTjodee I do a lot of real life learning with my kiddo's. =) I know it will help them in the future and I want the best for them. I agree-public schools should do more real life learning. Yeah, I have always wanted to do it but never gotten to. Now I am putting my foot down and doing it! =)

Just check sale prices and check if there is a store that doubles the coupons and if the item is on sale you will save even more money. I am sure you knew all this.

I do and don't use coupons we use them when we get them but we don't have newspaper delivery here where we live to where I can get the coupon inserts and it bums me out because I use to get them all the time and use what I could and send the ones I don't want to others that could use them.

I think that its a wonderful idea to have everyone involved. I've never been one to use coupons, we don't have very many up here in Canada compared to those in your country. But I do have a savings card for the grocery store that I shop at, you get points for money spent and then you can convert those points into cash off at the till when buying groceries. So that isn't a coupon, but its still saving money.

I am trying to get back into couponing a bit as well. I have always used them but when we had the twins, I was way to busy. Now things are slowing down a bit again as they are getting older and hubby only works part time so I am trying to relearn what have gotten behind on learning

We don't have a coupon system here but it seems like there are savings to be made by using it.

I rarely find a coupon that makes that particular brand cost less than the store brand, so I rarely use coupons.

No. We don't have them here in the Philippines. I wish we have some.
