Here in Florida, as I am sure in other hot places too, many of the people that live here in the winter go back to their home towns up north for the summer months to get away from the southern heat.
I am noticing more and more activity in our community as the snow birds are back, a few at a time.
I would have loved to been able to afford two houses as I hate the heat too. I usually do not leave my house during the hottest hours of the day in the summer. I live inside in a nice cool house or in the pool.
Now starts the crowded stores and restaurants and the roads. It is so quiet around here in the summer. There is good and bad with every situation.

Believe it or not, I miss the snow in the northeast. I grew up in New Jersey and spent about 20 years in Pennsylvania. I loved driving in the snow and I was good at it. I had to travel up and down route 80 which was packed going to and from the Poconos. I loved it. My husband hated it and had medical issues and that is why we are here in Florida.

@ramapo17 My evil ex lives in the Poconos with my kids. I have been there many times. I like it there, it's not bad. But the winters are very hard there. Jersey is okay. I think New York is bad enough in the winter. But I grim and bare it. I have no choice.

I can survive best in the hot summer. Think I'd die in winter.

@ramapo17 The coldest I've experienced and it hasn't happened again was 17C in my city.
