Clogged drain

Ever since before DD was evicted, we have had a slow draining sink. It was because of her that it is this way. We told her, REPEATEDLY, to NOT dump the main water bowl in the sink, since she couldn't see what the cats and dogs had gotten in it, but she did it anyway. I wish we had gotten her to pay for the plumber BEFORE she left... However, since we almost never use that bathroom, because that is where we "crate" the old dog, it hasn't been a big issue. Having said that, it was draining. Tonight I went to fill up the old dog's water bowl and that sink wasn't draining at all. I think, in part, it was because of the wonderful friend who helped us mop, just because he didn't understand what the drain issue was until he completely plugged it up. However, I couldn't let it sit there, undrained. So, having put the water bowl, now filled with clean water, on the floor for the old dog, I started mucking it out. I told the roomie that I got half a cat out of it. No, not really, not even close, but there was a lot of fur and cat litter in it. Not satisfied, I then went back and pulled more fur out of it. "There's the other half," I said. I then went and rinsed my hand in the kitchen sink. "Why wash it, when you are just going to pick up Cujo's food bowl?" she asked. "I'm not touching anything with that hand," I replied. I then took the other food bowl over and put it down for Cujo, our other, almost as old, dog. Then I washed my hands, turned on my bedroom light - don't worry about wasting electricity, its an LED and keeps me from having to walk in to the room in the dark. So, its again draining slowly, but at least its draining, again. Yeah, the nice, young sort of nephew still needs to come clean out the drain, but we can put it off a while longer.

I'm sure you remember me complaining about her over on that other site... She was an endless case of f*ck-up... "Sighted people should do the house work."

@Hatley the good news, our young friend came over and unplugged it completely! now we just need to clean out the tub and we'll have 2 bathrooms again... (the toilet has worked all this time, but since the dog spends the night in there...)

I hate when clogs happen. Take forever to fix.

especially when there's fur, dog food, cat food, whatever else in it... then more fur and cat litter on top of the old clog... well, I got the worst of that out!

@carebear29 when we, or someone else is here to mop, we tell them to put it in the commode, that way it won't plug up a drain

I understand that so well...recently they redid the sewers in the colony and ours should have been the lowest datum, but they took it wrong, and you know what happens then...we are running from pillar to post trying to find a solution to this problem.

S isn't really a nephew, but when he was a teen, the roomie's folks let him live at their place for a while. His mother, a terrible person we've learned, had kicked him out. He's a really good kid... saying this from someone twice his age...
