@GardenGerty and I are having a grand time going around on the Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop. She picked me up yesterday evening. We hit the quilt shop in town first, then headed to Alden, Kansas, and then to McPherson, Kansas before heading to her house for the night. It made for a later night last night. Today we left her house about 9 am and headed to Severy, Kansas to our first shop for the day. After that it was to Winfield, Kansas. The last 2 shops for today were in Wichita, Kansas. I didn't get paid by the places online that owed me. I had just a bit of money and my mom loaned me some more. I've made a small purchase in most all of the 7 shops we have visited, including buying things that I needed like the Frixion Pen and hexagon papers. I won a spool of thread at one shop in their game, and a stack of 2 1/2 inch strips in the game at another store. A couple of stores offered drinks and snacks as we came in. Tomorrow we just have 2 more shops to visit, one in Hillsboro, Kansas and the other in Newton, Kansas. Then our girls weekend of fun will end when she takes me back home. Ta ta for now! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, no matter what you are doing. Oh....each of the 9 shops made a quilt with this years shop hop fabric. This years fabric is on the edge of this quilt with Kansas on it. This happens to be the Hen Feathers Quilt Shop's quilt. Don't be fooled by that price. That price is the finishing kit for their quilt. Also to finish the quilt you have to buy the small layer cake package of fabrics from each of the stores as well to finish the quilt. Each packet of those is $5.99.

Quilts seem to get better as they age. I would like to finish some quilts sometime beyond little projects.I saw an attractive one today make with flannels called a man quilt.

There are lots of quilters that are men, maybe you would like to learn how to make your own if you don't have someone to make one for you?

@marsha32 If I made it it wouldn't be a genuine home made American quilt. I want one of the old ones and I've looked and they're very expensive.

Oh my, you could sure spend a fortune if you buy everything you see that you like! We seen so many neat and fun fabric prints. If I had money I sure would have bought the fabrics printed with Fireman prints.....I'm sure my brother, who is a fire chief, and his wife would have liked it if I could make them even a wall hanging.

They were all pretty...some were too busy for me to ever even think about trying to make them. Busy meaning too many designs and small pieces.

What a great weekend, I don't quilt but my best friend does and we found a great quilt shop in Ireland last year and there is a very nice one in Ocala right down the street from our winter home where she took me as well. I am learning about it from her.

So many of the ladies in the quilt guild take trips to other countries. They tell us of the quilt shops they visit while gone when they get back.

@Inlemay I was actually making doll rugs ....toothbrush rugs.....they are made with a toothbrush that is modified to be the needle....and not too dangerous.

I seemed to like the shops that are the hardest to get to, like Alden, Severy and Winfield.

Of course it doesn't matter when I receive it, I always need it....getting it at all will be nice. I will check my paypal again in the morning, but I'm not sure if swagbucks pays over the weekend. I have $8 left to spend so I can still find a little something at each of the 2 shops left.

@marsha32 It was PayPal via Swagbucks? I think it takes a bit, but the few times I've cashed out, I've gotten the payment. I hope you get it soon, if you haven't already.

@tammys85 Yes, each month I do the monthly deal and get $25 amazon for 2200 sb, then I get the $25 paypal for 2500 sb. I got the paypal in yesterday. All in all I am happy with what I was able to buy and I would have just spent more if I had it.
