Turtles, Hamsters, and Birds. Oh My!

It is really becoming a zoo around here. My last pet story was about our new pet turtle eating our old pet gold fish. Well, the kids wanted to "replace" our fallen Goldy. They decided hermit crabs would be a good choice, so we went to the beach souvenir shop and got two of them for free. What were NOT free, were the habitats, food, and various shells that the associate said were a must have. Now, we have one turtle, one parakeet, one hamster, and two hermit crabs. I don't want any more mouths to feed!

Hopefully, now they're in and settled the hermit crabs won't cost a lot to feed.

Ye, they are. The hamster is my favorite, he is so cute and cuddly. Can't really cuddle a turtle or crab...LOL

No fur babies here. Youngest son has asthma and can not tolerate dander. Believe me, we tried.

We currently have four cats, 17 chickens and one lop-earred rabbit. The rabbit was only supposed to be a temporary resident, but it seems he has become permanent. The oldest son is NOT happy that we informed him last night that the bunny cannot continue to reside in the great-room. As the weather gets cooler I'm going to want to put my rocking chair back beside the wood heater!

@cindiowens If this little beast wasn't so adorable I'd be tempted to turn him into a pair of slippers.

I can imagine it does. None of our pets eat very much, lol. The turtle will probably be around for quite a while, but as for the rest, I look for the hermit crabs to go first.

They are cheap and easy to find here at the beach. They are fun to watch.
