Is there a topic that you try to avoid?

Of all short stories that I have read, the one that was written by Francisco Arcellana entitled "The Mats" was the one I felt so emotional about. It took me days before I was able to make a review on it on my blog. The reason for such was that it deals with the loss of loved ones. The memory of my father on his deathbed and inside his coffin are still fresh on me. Another topic that I tried to avoid is politics. I always end up judging someone when the topic is all about it. How about you?

I avoid discussing politics, religion too. I avoid reading and watching sad/crime/horror stories because I cry easily (and I can see it in my dreams when I sleep). I avoid reading articles/news with bloody, yucky and scary pictures. I avoid many things.

Likewise. It is the reason I do not spend much time browsing facebook because sometimes I see some yucky videos or pictures.

Politics, religion and music. They have never been my interest.

Politics and religion. I don't judge people base on the topic they have written, but I always end up in an argument, not just with the author but sometimes it's with the other people who are in the discussion.

Politics for me is a dirty topic. And with religion, no one wins in that topic. Everyone has something to say. It seems no one wants to surrender as which religion is right and which religion is not. I exclude myself when I know that a discussion is about different religious beliefs.

I agree. Judging others seems to be the most natural things people do.

I avoid politics and religion, those are two topics that I prefer not to discuss. People get easily angry about those two things.

I feel the same way too. When my dad passed away, I wish I could return him back. But no tears can do it. Nothing is left but to accept that life is like that.

No topic is off-limits to me. I read the post and the comments and then just decide not to react. It is better that way.

To me it's religion and politics . These two topics will always get contradicting beliefs , so i better avoid it . I just want a happy interaction , not one that gives judgements to each others' beliefs .

I would avoid these two subjects too - and religion. I just don't want to get involved in complicated discussions on these subjects.

I agree with religion as well. I respect them and I don't want to argue anymore about our differences.

I agree with you. Sometimes, it is better to keep ourselves silent. Respect should be given to anyone no matter what nationality or religious beliefs he or she belongs.
