I can't hear many things my dad says How about you all? (This has reference to using soap in washing machine, which because of my mistaken belief that they will come out cleaner...I used to add generously ...till the machine nearly croaked ...sometimes dads are also right..I always thought he was being miserly..lol).

My Dad didn't say much, but when he did it was usually worth listening to!

Lucky you....most of the time dad talks politics, which you know is not worth listening to. So it kind of rubs off on other things. lol

Oh yes, we often choose to now here what our elders tell us. We really need to listen to them a bit more.

Come to think of it, I've never heard your dad say anything. I can't hear that well.

@vandana7 It is like selective forgetting. In case of hearing,we only hear those things that we want to listen.

We have a saying in my country "there is no one so deaf, as someone who doesn't want to listen". I think this is your case with your Dad.

We make our own laundry soap to save money and have to remind some in the house that more soap is not always a good thing. The washing machine does most of the work!

I think you would be out of your mind if I were to tell you that there are washing machines that does not even use detergents to wash the clothes. So I can understand what you are saying here.
