The Coffee Debate Seems to Be On The Back Burner

I love coffee but only really have up to two cups a day. And yes I love those expensive lattes or cappucinos every once and a while but do think we are being gouged. Now I hear moderate coffee drinking isn't as bad for you or one of the Seven Deadly Sins as they used to think. There's anti-oxidants which help build your immune system and some even think it adds to your daily brain power. So what is moderate coffee drinking- up to 3 or 4? If I had more than my max of 2, I would get palpitations and start talking very fast! Good idea for fast post writing though- I'll have to remember that! LOL! But yes, I do love it and it does wake me up- I take it with milk or cream and no sugar and I like it fairly strong. How do you like your coffee? Pixabay free image from their public domain

Yes, I find it's nice the odd time to have a special treat with a special coffee but mostly just have it in the morning.

I like a pretty big mug of "American" coffee in the morning, but I prepare an espresso for mid-morning and soon after my lunch. I only get those 3 coffees every day. The espresso is the one with the least concentration of caffeine. The faster the water passes through the coffee grinds, the less caffeine there is in the coffee. I know that the "American" coffee is full of caffeine, but I need it in the morning.

@MarymargII I have bought an espresso machine, so I make it at home. I buy coffee that is not too acid and mild. Outside Italy I cannot remember I ever had a good espresso. Even here in Switzerland is not as good as in Italy.

@LadyDuck The Italian must be masters at Expresso- but then it is an Italian drink!

I didn't know that about the caffeine and the water throug the filter. I'm afraid of the expresso as it would make the tachycardia worse but I do love it!

@sueznewz2 Yes, if I drink coffee past say 5pm it should be decaf or I won't sleep well! Can you?

I am not a coffee drinker but my husband is. When he was still alive , he can have 4 - 5 cups of black coffee a day. He was a real coffee drinker.

I love coffee! With milk, sugar and 2 drops of vanilla essence. ...it gives it a lovely aromatic fragrance.

The essence is a super idea- Now that I think of it, it's like the flavour shots at Starbucks! Smart idea!

@ms1864 Yes coffee has its own unique flavour and the vanilla would really complement it.

I am not a coffee drinker, just never developed a taste for it. It smells great, especially the flavored ones, but we I taste it, it does not appeal to me. I do drink tea for its health benefits. I find it funny that they are coming out with things that may not be bad for you after all. Just goes to show, do everything in moderation and you will be fine.

I wish they wouldn't keep changing their minds about what good and not good for us. I only like instant coffee and not too strong at that so I'm a real pleb in that regard.
