Day 30 Proverbs 10:17 Proverbs 10:17 He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but he that refuses reproof errs. 18 He that hides hatred with lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool. 19 In the multitude of words there wants not sin: but he that refrains his lips is wise. 20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. You cannot get away from words. However, how you use words will either benefit you or cause your downfall. With so many people out to manipulate and deceive you with cunning words you need to be on your guard at all times. When you think of people who hide hatred with lying lips, or utter slander, who are the first people to come to mind? Isn’t it politicians who want you to believe everything they say? Next would be those commercials you see on television, and let’s not forget those telemarketers who call several times a day and want to separate you from your hard earned money. Solomon had a lot to say about lying lips, and people who were out to deceive you with cunning words. Just as much as people like that died for lack of wisdom, those who used their words to do good were sought after as choice silver and felt like food to a starving soul. You want to believe that what people are telling you is the truth. You want to have someone you can trust and rely on who will do exactly as they say they will. Today you go to great lengths to check a person out and find the public records that bear out their testimony of the good they’ve done and what they say isn’t some kind of manipulation to get you to do something that looks like a good thing, but deep down is a cesspool of evil lurking to deceive. With so many scams taking place today, the organizations targeted by the scams have put out automated messages on their phones to let people know they do not do or are involved in any kind of telemarketing scam. Before you are taken in by marketing scams, contact the organization and find out if they are legitimate. It will save you a lot of money and sleepless nights. James had something to say about the words a person uses. James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Your words can lift you up or tear you down. You need to make certain you use your words to encourage not discourage. You need to speak the truth at all times and not try to manipulate and destroy someone with your words. The only one you will truly hurt is yourself. David’s prayer says it best. Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (KJV) Think before you speak. Let’s pray: Father, let my words be truth and life to those who hear me. Let them be food for the soul and not be seen as manipulative and harmful. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I agree wholeheartedly! I also would suggest/ add to listen when someone says that your way of using words has hurt them or make them feel belittled and try to see your errors, not scoff at them and call it attacking. Amen!

Amen. Proverbs 10:17:21 , The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. This is very true. This is what is doing now with some foes of our new president.
