Pumpkin's positive post: I Know He Was the Right Decision

In my previous post, I talked about making decisions and often regretting them, or the decision not panning out as expected and having to change things anyway. Well, there is one decision I made of which I am absolutely certain. There may have been wobbles along the way, and there are still things on which we need to work, but I definitely do not regret choosing my man giant. I suppose, if a man sits you down, tells you he'd like to get to know you in a relationship kind of way, and proceeds to tell you all of his physical and mental illnesses and issues and tells you he'll probably never work again, it would be easy to walk away and say 'no thank you'. Admittedly, I find those things difficult at times but I wouldn't have him any other way. D often seems surprised, even 2 and a half years later, that I feel the way I do about him. He tells me that I accept him (which I do, of course) but the thing is, he accepts me. He loves my boys like his own. He is wonderful with Mini (the youngest) and both of the boys love him. D is always supportive of everything I do. He doesn't let me give up (unless he can see that it's for the best). He pushes me when I need it, and also makes sure I take a break when I need it too. He supports everything I do, and he has said that I work hard and I'm a good mum. If ever I'm struggling with something, he tries to understand. Even when he doesn't understand something, he will try to do the right thing or give advice. I know I annoy him sometimes. Yesterday, I was bored and he gave me a 'you're acting like a toddler' face! But we can have fun together, we can enjoy cuddling up to watch TV, and we can talk. He may not always listen. Well, I think he does usually listen. I think I talk to him a lot but it's such a relief to know that I can. He tells me to talk about things and then complains that I talk too much! He also nags me about things but I don't mind. He gives me lovely cuddles, he looks after me the best way he can, and I know he loves all of us. Of all the decisions I have had to make, choosing D was definitely the right one.

It is always great to hear that someone found the right person for them.
