My Last Few Days

As you probably know from my past posts, I dislocated my shoulder on the 6th. I am having some pain especially in the evening when I am trying to find a comfortable position to sleep. Not able to get in to see a specialist until the 19th. I held off a little because I wanted to be sure of transportation before making an appointment. I called the specialist a few days ago using the number I was given on the paperwork from the ER and just got a number that rang and rang. I got online Friday and found another number. I think that the numbers that are in the ER's system are all outdated because the number they had for my medical doctor was outdated too. Made an appointment for the 19th. Thursday I decided I would call my medical doctor to see if I could get some pain meds until I can get in to see the specialist. Friday morning at about 9:45a. I called in to my medical doctor's office to see about this. The receptionist took my info and would have someone call me back. At 2:30p. I decided it was time for me to go to the bathroom again. It is a long and emotional procedure because I have to climb up off of the floor. My injury means I have one less arm to use to push my body upward. It scares me and so I don't get up very often. Sure enough the doctor's office called while I was in there. My daughter and grandson weren't around to answer the phone. So, when I had listened to the message from the nurse I immediately called her back. No answer, get their automated service. I leave a message. A few minutes later I called them again and got the front desk. The nurse who had left me the message had just gone home. They could leave another message. I never heard back from anyone. Frustrated? Yes! I am just going to wait until I see the specialist now. Orthopedic surgeon.

I know this dreadful pain you are in. its a nightmare and it seems that everything you do sometimes the world is against you and why does no one help?!! that can help. so sorry for all that pain. big hugs and prayers to get you through. I need to read some of the other posts to figure out why you are on the floor. I could never get up from there if it was me.

@bunnybon7 .....THe social worker came on Thursday and gave me an entire stack of places to call. I take these pain pills in the afternoon and evening to help me relax and so I haven't felt much like getting on the phone and begging for a bed and transportation to bring it here. It is hard for me to ask for stuff.I have always been so independent and now that I don't drive and am getting 'unfirm' it's hard.

We had bed bugs two summers ago. At that time we did a complete purge and got rid of everything. So now I sleep on an worn out twin mattress on the floor. I have to go into a squatting position on the floor and then swivel around and pull myself up into a standing position using my arms. With only one arm now I am fearful that I am going to fall or that my other arm is going to give out on me. I get emotional each time.

I am so sorry to hear about your dislocated shoulder. I'm sure it's very painful and I know how frustrating it can be to play phone tag, especially with a doctor's office. Hope you'll get some relief soon.

Yes, and it doesn't really do the trick that the Norcos do. At night is when I really have a problem with the pain. I can't get comfortable.

It is just frustrating. If I thought they were going to call and was thinking clearly I could have taken the phone in the bathroom with me. But, I didn't think.
