After a few weeks of procrastinating on getting my flu shot.. I went today but with a slight delay. I did not realize the entire pharmacy staff at Costco goes to lunch break at around 1-2pm, so my boyfriend and I walked around the store being so bored to kill a hours time. Sadly, this Costco was in a secluded area or else we would have went somewhere else and come back. Finally, after the long wait - I filled out an form and got my shot by the pharmacist and was out of the store in a jiffy! Note: If you go to Costco for the flu shot, call to see their office hours. (Cost of the flu shot is $14.99 since my insurance didn't take, but at CVS/Walgreens it's $30 - saved $15 bucks) Did any of you get the flu shot too? Mine is slightly sore still but I hope it'll heal nicely.

I got my flu shot last week at work. It's free for all city employees. I make sure to get my shot every year, and--knock on wood--I've never gotten the winter flu! {I always seem to make up for it in the summer though, where it seems like every year I come down with a horrible summer flu}. I also like that our school district gives every single student a free flu shot at school, so my kids also get the shot every year as well!

That's nice your work provides free flu shots as well as the kids at school! My previous employer did also but not everyone took advantage of the shots! Then when someone sick without the flu we go see!

@infatuatedbby Our city has it's own medical facility staffed by nurses. We have 2,500 employees, so with an organization that large, it is more cost-effective to provide internal medical services than for all those employees to see private doctors.

@infatuatedbby No, I don't get unnecessary shots. Perhaps you will find it strange, but in fact the flu is not something serious in my opinion. And the flu changes every year and I don't really think the flu shot will completely protect me. But even if I got a flu, I would recover by myself after a few days.

@youless Ah I see. It is pretty common here though or a requirement to get shots (not necessarily the flu though)

Mine was a little sore! I removed the bandaid last night and there was a good amount of dried blood! I was shocked since normally shots don't bleed that much just a dot usually!!

@infatuatedbby I didn't even get a band aid since it didn't bleed at all. Guess our nurse is good LOL.

Thats good you were able to save some money on it. I never get a flu shot or my children. My doctor tries talking me into it each year but I will not do it. It would be free as my children and I have Medicaid.

If I went a clinic it'd be free ~ but since I was already at Costco - I thought I'd just do it anyway. :)

My husband got his flu shot yesterday and it was free. I have never had the flu shot and will not get the shot. I am afraid the shot might give me the flu.

Yeah the flu shot is giving you the flu' so far my mom and I are fine. Not sick :) I was a little tired but that was from waking around the store in circles being bored out of my mind! That's nice your husband got his shot for free. My mom did too but my insurance didn't take!

We got ours last Monday. Insurance covered it completely. We haven't had the flu in years! Good for you!

Yay! My insurance would cover if I went to a clinic, but I didn't want to wait for an even longer line at the clinic.
