Lump in leg

I have a lump that is the size of a golf ball deep under my skin in my leg. It is about 6 inches above my right knee on the inside of my leg. I noticed it last month as I was sitting on my knees and pushed down on my legs. Being healthy and very busy I forgot about it until I just starting noticing a little pain from it. It is not visible and you have to push down to feel it I went in to my doctor this week thinking that it might just be fatty tissue or a cyst but she said it was neither. I had a ultra sound to see if it was a blood clot or some other kind of fluid which it is not. Now she has me scheduled for an MRI next week. Do you have any thoughts of what this could be?

I don't know! I would say a muscle knot, or a cyst or a blood clot, but it looks like they are ruling those things out. Perhaps it's a calcium deposit or a knotted vein? I hope it isn't anything too serious! Good luck with that! :O)
