Getting Ready for My Vacation

I just got a phone call from my friend I'm going with tomorrow. She will be picking me up at 9 AM tomorrow morning and we will take our time going up to Washington Island and see all we can as we go. She says there is a lot we can take in before we get to the ferry that will take us to the island.
She told me she has her suitcases out. I just need to take mine from the closet. I did go to Wal-Mart this morning for more sweaters. The one I got a couple days ago is gorgeous and there are more colors and I got all in my size this morning. So five more sweaters and another shirt perfect for Packers games as it's gold & green - perfect. So I'll take all my sweaters so I have a good choice of what to wear.
I also checked the weather. It's going to rain tomorrow, but the rest of our vacation will be beautiful, perfect fall weather in the 50's.
I am really looking forward to this trip, so don't worry if you don't see me here - I'll be gone tomorrow through Thursday. I should be here on Thursday, but not sure what time as we'll most likely take our time coming back as well, though we do need to be back in time for the game Thursday night when the Packers play the Bears at Lambeau. Should be interesting. We play Dallas today.
So that's what's happening, and I'm going to try to get as many notifications done as possible and even do a couple more Bible studies so I'm not too far behind on that while I'm gone.
So there is excitement in the air at my place today. I haven't been on vacation since my kids were toddlers and they are all well into their adult years. My youngest being 38. So it's well past time for me to have a vacation.
So what are your plans for today and the coming week?
I will have no access to the Internet so I won't be able to check in here. I am going to take plenty of pictures, so I will share with you when I get back.

No way to interact as I have no way of doing so. I don't have a smart phone and Internet was iffy with my friend as the signal wasn't very strong. So we had the perfect getaway. No TV, Internet, or phone - I had my emergency cell phone with me, but nobody called and I had no need to.

My month long vacation started today. This Wednesday I'll leave and visit my parents. I'll be staying with them until mid-November.

It was wonderful. I found out how to do a slideshow of the highlights of the pictures I took and posted it here. It was the perfect vacation. Perfect weather, perfect friend to go with, the food was awesome. I can't say enough about the trip. It was fabulous!

Relaxing was actually easy to do. Everything closes by 5 PM and they roll up the streets by 9. I think I counted two bars that were perhaps the only thing open after 9. So we got to know each other very well, did some reading. No television, but the radio worked. Not even any Internet. My friend has a smart phone, but she even had a hard time getting any wi-fi signal.

my plans are to continue to catch up on here, have a counseling appt tomorrow, get more settled in here, start taking nibbler for walksies and see aunt and gram again wed or thurs

@DianneN We plan to. There's a restaurant - Fiddler's Green, that was closed for the season and heard how much fun that one is as well as the food. So we're definitely planning a trip back for that and some other things that were closed already.

It was great! I know you saw the slideshow. The weather was perfect, we went everywhere, got turned around a few times, but being on an island, you're really not lost. I'm even hoping to go back next year, only in season so we can see and do those things we couldn't because they were closed until next spring.
