My pay went down at the College!

I was going through my bank statements and noticed, more or less by chance, that I've been getting about $100 less per month than last Semester at the College where I teach.
What the heck? Have I been demoted?
I dashed off an email to the new Department Office Manager and asked if she had any idea what could be going on. She said it could be that my paperwork for office hours didn't go through, so we're investigating right now.
I got a raise at my other main job the one where I take troubled kids out hiking and such, so I thought I'd be rolling in the dough this Semester.
Guess I'd better start writing and commenting more on MyLot.
Have you ever had mysterious payment issues at a job? It's a bit unnerving.

When my hubby started working his present job he was sent a notice of his pay. His first paycheck reflected less money so he said something to his boss She said that it was the woman in charge of pay statements that had done that and she didn't know why. But yes he got the lesser amount.

@TheHorse No The boss said it was incorrect and he got what he got. Working for the state bites sometimes. He's finally being allowed to work as a counselor/ helping a lady lead a group, anyway. He's been at the agency over 15 years. The lady is 26 and hardly has a year of college. She has a job he should have eons ago!! Good old discrimination. He explained to her and the class what spirituality meant yesterday. They took notes. Gads.

@LadyDuck I don't get a pay check for doing our business either although I am the one in charge of the deposits and checkbook, but most of it gets put toward bills.

Hmmm... maybe they found out about the new hobby @vandana7 has been going on about? (I am curious why you are shaving the legs on spiders? Isn't that a bit on the tedious side, even for you?)
Honestly, if I found out one of my employees was shaving spider's legs, I think I would be calling the local psychiatric center and seeing if I could have you forcibly admitted.... especially if the rest of what vanny is saying you are saying/doing with the shaved legged spiders is also correct!!!
I am quite sure there was an honest mistake made in something to do with payroll and everything will quickly be corrected, pony!

@TheHorse Just make sure you only squeak when it is important to you... the squeaky wheel is also the one that gets replaced!
I'm glad you got your projector back again, pony! LOL!

@DaddyEvil Heh. I squeaked in Oakland and managed to stay there another ten years. Integrity has its rewards. But I left another job after two years because I couldn't stand what I was seeing.

@crazyhorseladycx It would be extra hard for a single mother of two. Both of my issues will be resolved with the next pay period, I think.

I really don't understand why I am being forced to start liking this cry baby! Everywhere I see, his cute face is painted with the expression of "Mommy, he cheated me! Waaaahhh"...

I love this picture. I cant even remeber what he was sad about, but I took it at my old place of work. I have a friend who whines all the time on a blog we're on, and I send it to him to remind him of how he sounds. He doesn't appreciate it, but others do.

I would be concerned too. But generally bank statements need to be checked once month so that issues, if any can be addressed promptly. Anyway...you better start writing and commenting more here...my net is playing havoc...don't know if I will be able to respond so well..going by notifications sorry...but will definitely try to reply to you ..

@TheHorse .. In the morning it came intermittently. By our afternoon around five things started improving. Now it is alright...I suppose though I was not able to access my bank account a few minutes ago. lol. I am in "Now you see, now you don't" mode..so to speak. lol.
Glad...that the discrepancy was resolved...keep a watch though...banks...smh.

I still see you out there! Commented to you on another thread just now. The issue was a apiece of paper that didn't get to where it was supposed to get. The data were there on-line, but they needed hard copy. I'll see the money next paycheck.

Yes. When I was hired in my last school district, they did not pay me for the whole month I taught, only a small part of it. Sure did hurt. I had to go to the credit union to take out a loan to pay my bills.

@ElizabethWallace That's pretty incredible! Were you not supported by a union at that time?

@TheHorse Because it took so long for my fingerprints to be cleared by the FBI (a requirement before a school employee can step onto a campus in California), I missed the first three days of the month. I expected to be docked three days, but they failed to pay me 2/3 of the month's salary. I never did get it, even though I complained. Their comment was that they were allowed to do it, so they did. Jerks.

In the Army, they started putting my money on someone else's account for some reason. Took forever to straiten it out.

@TheHorse - Not that I'm aware of. I occassionally run into someone with the same name, however.

It's a good thing you noticed this and hopefully, it's a mistake and will be rectified soon. I've missed out on pay before when somehow they misplaced my timecard or something, but that was quite a few years ago and it doesn't happen any longer.
I've almost lost my employee's timecards before and have to hunt through the papers on my desk to find it. I can usually figure things out, but it's worrisome until I do just the same.
